Dave Kim Moon Jar Workshop

130.00

September 28, 10am-5pm (with an hour break for lunch)

During this 6 hour workshop, students will learn different techniques for making traditional Korean Moon Jars. The workshop includes demonstrations and hands-on work on the potter’s wheel. The workshop will focus on throwing taller cylinders, stretching techniques, and lastly joining multiple thrown pieces to make a larger form. The moon jar is a type of traditional Korean white porcelain ware which was made during the Joseon Dynasty (1392–1897). Traditionally made in 2 halves, the name comes from its resemblance of a full moon. This workshop is geared towards intermediate to advanced throwers.
